20 MONTHS

I don't want to think about the teenage years...  but so far, it just keeps getting more and more fun with Annika.  She's a funny & fun loving little girl who loves her pretties, enjoys laughing and making everyone around her laugh, will do anything to get her parents to read her as many books as possible, runs around like a crazy kid after a bath before the jammies go on, and likes to boss the dog and cat around - because it doesn't work when she tries it on her parents.

Baby J... 30 weeks down, 10 more to go (with 8 more weeks of busy season in the studio!)
I really do enjoy my pregnancies.  It's an exciting time, reading about what's happening each week... anticipating getting to meet this new little person who has been such a big (and getting bigger) part of me, feeling those movements and enjoying the peace before any crying begins... although I am able to love each stage, no matter how painful (with a psychotic sciatic nerve making it difficult to walk or even roll over in bed) or the sleep deprivation that comes later.

I couldn't enjoy it so much as I do, without the awesome husband I have, who loves and supports me, and takes every chance he gets, to be the greatest husband and dad he can be.  He is happy to take Annika out to play... or do an oil change, or tinker in the garage, or make a grocery run with her, to give me some down time when he is not working.  My parents are also so helpful to watch Annika when I am with appointments in the studio - which is a lot right now, with seniors in full swing and Christmas coming!  I've been blessed in SO MANY ways with all of my family, near and far away.

Annika has a pretty good vocabulary now.  She says small sentences like "Daddy at home, Daddy at work, Daddy a boy (don't know where this comes from, or if she has any clue either), Doggie outside, up please, down please...
Common words at this point:
     Mom, MOM, MOMMY, MOM, MOM ...
     Honey= hungry
     Eat!= eat right now :p
     Beb= bed
     Juice= anything to drink
     Go!  ...that one is quite clear - we're learning about green lights and red lights
     Pots= stop, said backwards
     Dits= sit
     boddy= potty
     buup= book
     Mawma= Grandma
     Bappaw= Grandpa
     Beeby= baby
     Dath= bath
     Yet= light
     Goggie= dog
     Osie= Sophie - our dog
     Bob= our cat
     Kate & Booey= my parent's cats names
     Bedgie= her favorite cartoon, Veggie Tales
     Kids  ...she loves to see kids, at church or on u-tube
     Abby & Aussie= two of her favorite cousins Abby in NE and Oscar in TX
     MESS! ... this one is one of her favorites.  She can't stand a mess
     Orse= horse
     Cow / mooo
     Guck= duck -wak-quack
     Boat
     Bubbles
     Piggy= her pet guinea pig - "Piggy-Pig"
     Ursie= her pacifier

     YEP! - one of her new favorite words

If you ask her how old she is, she will hold up one finger and say "Old"
...Sometimes she will tell you "One"

This little video is Annika's first attempt at singing.

I read through the list of words for Annika to say.  They are otherwise words she says without prompting, just her daily vocab + a lot more that she surprises us with.

Frank L Ross IV
Baby J

We had a 3D ultrasound last night to get J's first pictures at 29 weeks.
He had his little eyes open for the first minute...

He sucked on his fingers...

gave a yawn and a grin...

then snuggled in and went to sleep.

It's pretty neat to be able to peek in and see what he is up to.
I wonder if that's a dimple on his cheek.  He looked pretty happy in there.
Thanks God, for this little preview of your creation.

Great Bed Head!

This girl gets it from her dad... He is quite proud of such things!

In the first picture, you can see Annika's fat lip from where she fell a couple days ago.  She was so excited to get her evening bath, that she took off running excitedly and tripped.  She fell on a chair and almost put her two bottom teeth through her lip.  (she never did get any more teeth when I thought they were coming.)  Poor little thing - that realllly hurt.  She continued on to her bath and we washed all the blood off her little belly.  I rocked her to sleep and since then, she doesn't even notice the fat lip - or at least she doesn't complain.

Annika and J's room just got a bit nicer looking.
We had some flooring left over from the foyer, which looks quite nice in their room.
She's sitting on her bed reading one of her books.

I don't have to work until later today, so Annika and I had a fun morning together.  Annika enjoyed drawing.  She didn't adjust her clock for the time change, so she was up early this morning.  I got up with JG at 5:00, so it didn't cause me less sleep.  For some reason, since we went to TX last month, she hasn't slept through the night.  She wakes up screaming or crying 2-6 times a night.  I hope it's a short phase because I will get enough sleepless nights when J comes.  Not that I'm sleeping super well anyway, being slightly uncomfortable at night, but getting out of bed doesn't help.  Annika loves to brush her teeth.  She also loves the little suction cups on the bottom of her tooth brush.  It sticks quite well to the shower.

JG insisted that we go out and hand out candy bars in our little neighborhood.  We both got home from work about 8:00, but he still wanted to throw something together.  Annika didn't have anything to dress up, but yesterday when JG picked his brother Joe up from the airport (coming home from Basic Training and tech school) two aunts had clothes from  two of Annika's cousins to give to us.  This little outfit just happened to be hanging there by the door.

Annika went running through the house thinking it was fun to have something fluffy on.  She was quite layered, with long sleves, sweatshirt, stretch pants, another pair of pants and the frilly over-fluff.

We delivered candy to the neighbors on our walking route - they enjoyed the visit.

...and how irresistible is this!?

JG went out as an AEP worker... myself... I went as a pregnant lady.

We also welcomed our new renters to the neighborhood and signed a one year contract.
They spent the weekend moving in.  It's official - we're now landlords with our other house.
That in itself is a little scary, but we pray it goes well.
Thank goodness for the time change tonight (giving us an extra hour) since JG has to be up by 5:00 in the morning!

Small Adventure
We found some time for a quick half day adventure today.  We grabbed our bikes and headed out on a 20 mile ride to Yellow Springs and back.  It was interesting, being 7 months pregnant, & hauling a trailer with kid and dog.  We tried switching off on the way to YS, but JG's bike had a bent rim and my load was actually easier.  We did stop at the bike shop in YS and had the back breaks taken off so it wouldn't rub.  That made it a lot easier to ride, so we switched bikes on the way back.

Annika and Sophie, ready to ride!

We had dinner at Ha Ha Pizza in Yellow Springs.  It felt good to sit down on a bench seat instead of the bike seat!
We put down the bike trailer wind shield on the way home since it was getting cooler.

We got home in time for Sophie's obedience class.  I'm fairly sore and don't want to sit on another bike seat for at least a week.
